best 60' for 2wd with slicks? 4link or not to 4link?

You don't need to 4 link it. Stay with the leafs / Cal-tracs.
I did 1.49 on leaf springs with M&H Nostalgia slicks...... 12.00 x16's. Should do a 1.40 by time the snow melts. (getting new trans. and some more hp)
This is with a 6300 lb. street legal Superduty. I have more weight on my front axle than most trucks weigh total. Yet it transfers and lifts....... quite an acomplishment. Stock motor and turbo too !
If you serioulsy want it to work, and have the funds to do it.... because it's not bolt on stuff, pm me and I'll get you in touch with my suspension guru.

I would think that you might want to look into a rear from an 05' up LQ9 powered truck. If you got a 9.5" rear you could simply put in a detroit locker and be ok with it handling the power. It would also have drum brakes on the rear to allow for 15" rear wheels. I would still keep the front diff for street racing though. On the street the 4wd will give you a better launch. I wouldn't 4 link it though. That's alot of work considering the results.
