Come support Island Dragway, The World vs ECIRS!
Like it says guys, for anybody Eastern and in love with the Drags! You probably know Island Dragway almost went under. The family and track has been through some ordeals and is trying to revive the track once again. We have been racing there for many years and the people at Island are first rate, honest to goodness people. And they love ECIRS! Don't know what ECIRS is, well check us out ECIRS. We are just a group of B-Body enthusiasts who love to Bracket race! So the point is, they treat us very well and get us plenty of runs in. For those of you who have never been to Island, it isn't much to look at, but it's honestly one of the better prepped tracks I've ever run at, and I've run at tracks stretching from NH to NC!
Here are some basics about whats going down in The World vs ECIRS.
In the 2nd race the ECIRS will take on any and all challengers in the brackets that day and you will earn ECIRS points as well. The good news is, at least for the 1st round, we won’t be racing each other. We will line up all ECIRS racers in one lane and let the competition fill in the other lanes. Hopefully we will have enough racers to fill up the lanes and help raise some money for Island. It will also be a gamblers race, Keith B will collect money (if you want) and he will distribute the winnings out after the race. Obviously you need to pay in to win. Also, if your Impala is broken or not available to race, you can BRING ANYTHING TO RACE IN THAT DAY. You need an eligible car to gain ECIRS points but you can race for the fun and the money in anything.
So as you see, we will be running an in house Gamblers race. Run for fun, or run to take the wife out, or money towards that next mod! We're a great group of guys and we just love to race! So come out, shoot the breeze, and lets help keep Island going. Tracks are shutting down, and they aren't opening new ones.
