Default Diagnose times

I swear I have the worst luck when it comes to racing at the strip.

I don't believe it's a power problem as much as it's either a A. tuning problem, B. traction problem, or C. launching problem. I'll start off saying I have a conservative dyno tune as this is my daily driver. I might put on 10 miles every few days, but still a DD. Here's my 2 best slips:

60: 2.4188
330: 6.2658
1/8: 9.2749
1/8: 82.14
1/4: 14.1053
1/4: 100.82

and

60: 2.4247
330: 6.2688
1/8: 9.2789
1/8: 82.40
1/4: 14.1068
1/4: 100.66

At first I considered it to be a traction problem, and tried every possible way of launching, around the water box no burnout, around the water box with burn out, thru the water box with burnout, brake stalling, flashing off the line, etc, nothing yields anything better than a 2.39 60'. After this I considered maybe it's not a traction problem, and I payed extra close attention to a launch, and I don't think it's spinning. After mashing the gas the rpms slowly build up, no tire squealing or anything until 3000 then the N20 hits, which tells me it's probably not spinning. I know I have to be loosing a great deal of time from the tree. Before the N20 & dyno tune I was cutting 2.2 60's and running 14.70's @ 93 with the 212 218 & the old mail order tune, hot lapping too. I don't have much torque management left save but a few % left between shifts, and no abuse mode.

I leave pretty soon for the 2 weeks in the summer deal for the guard, so when I get back i was looking to get a few things, first is Electric fans because I can't stand the clutch fan anymore. I was either considering getting some drag radials and seeing if my 60's improved, if they don't I'm obviously not spinning and it has to be tune related (and I'll be pissed because for $500 a dyno tune better not be the reason), or getting a Yank TT3000. I was considering a cam swap, but I realized if this damn thing would get out of the hole better I should be in the deep 13's easy.

What are your guys' thoughts? What 60' do you think a Reg cab step side 2wd w/ 3.73's should cut on the factory stall, and afterwards with a yank 3000? If I get radials I probably won't be able to get a stall, and vice versa. Is it possible to cut decent 60's (at least 2.0) on street tires with a yank 3000? Truck made 350 rwhp & 440 ft lbs on the dyno, SAE corrected, 50% humidity 75*. I'll post up a dyno graph if wanted. Thanks for any help, it's greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long story.

Sounds like tuning if you were cutting 2.2 on the old tune and you say you are not spinning. Don't expect anything better than a 2.0 60 out of a yank 3000 with your setup unless your spraying out of the hole. It's possible to do it on street tires, but at the track you need some type of drag tires.

Thanks! I was leaning towards a converter & cooler. A 2.0 60' would make me happy as hell. After the converter is in I'm going to either get a more aggressive re tune from the same shop, or go to a speed shop in Southern Ohio thats pretty heavy into LSx stuff.

well its has to be the tune, with 3.42 stock stall converter pulling 2.19 60', 2k vette cam full bolt-ons, but it was in the dead winter.oh yeah went 13.67@9?? mph

not sure what my 60' were before bolt-ons, may have to look back and see haha

With a little suspension tweaking, I think you could go 1.9's all day long on street tires. I've went a best of 1.89 60' on 285/50-20 street tires with a 3k stall, and then a best of 1.74 on radials..

Hard to say without being there
Were those dyno numbers with the nitrous?
How much are you spraying?

If those dyno numbers were with the nitrous someone needs to try again. Not only should you be alot quicker, but with a 100 shot and your other mods I'd have expected more at the rear wheels. It looks like I am ready to race you. Coming to my event?

Ha Ha Ha.. I see you got a cam, It's the same one I was looking into... Yes those #'s were with N20. I leave July 15 and get back August 7th, I haven't heard about your event, I think your about 5hrs from me which is drivable.

Your truck is a rocket once it gets going. It just doesn't wanna get going...
