Since I have a Radix, I do everything I can to control IAT's. If I have my IAT's out of control before my run starts (too long of a burnout), then my ET will suffer. So for my setup, I think I will be better off with tires that allow a shorter burnout. At least, that's how I picture it in my mind.......make any sense?

Then if that is the case I would look for a FULL out drag slick.. A radial will prob be a harder compound.. If you go to the makers page I am sure there is a chart that shows what compound is used. Then all you have to do is find the softest one.. It will get sticky the fastest..

I am not sure but I think this logic is flawed. A drag slick needs a huge burnout. I am not sure how well they work without a big burnout. It does make sence, the softer the better, but I don't know that is how it will work out in the real world.

I have always been told that a DR usually needs a shorter burnout than a slick. I know that when I had BFG DR's on my Z28, longer burnouts ended up giving me less traction, similar to street tires. They worked best with just a short clean-up burnout.

That was about 10 years ago, and I'm sure that the new technology in the new DR's (and slicks) is better than it used to be. So I was looking for some "real world" experience from fellow members here before I make my decision.

Thanks for all your input guys. If anyone can add their experiences with these tires, it would be appreciated.

Dude a ET street is a hookin *** tire. Spin the water off, dry hop once and your good to go. M&H are good too. But personally Et Street is the best bet. Plus its the fastest drag radial in the world right!

Hey John, do you know which Hoosier he's running? Thanks for the vid. They hooked well with a short 5-6 second burnout. Just what I'm looking for!
