I agree that both are great tires. However, comparing a Ford fox body chassis to a 4x4 extended cab pickup truck chassis is apples & oranges. Weight distribution and chassis reaction are completely different. Breeze's truck is a much more direct comparison, in my opinion. But I am looking for all the input I can get, and I do appreciate your post and vid. Thanks!

There are some good points made here.. But you can not compare a car that is set up for them to a basically stock suspension rig. A drag radial will hook great if the suspension is set up for it, it has been proven time and time again.. Bottom line is slicks are going to hook better on something that is not dialed in as great.. They have a softer side wall, have a more of a wrinkle effect then a short wall DR.. Unless you plan to drive these on the street all the time, there isn't a doubt in my mind that I would go full slicks.. Again compound plays a role. You can get slicks with a very soft compound..

I understand your point. However I can say I have seen et streets on stock and modded vehicles. Never really seen anyone have traction issues as long as they were completely worn out..like any tire. IMO they are the closest thing to a slick that is truely drivable on the street (that can be daily driven).
Best of both worlds.

Well I'm back from a not so good night. Track prep sucked & so did my M&H. Best 60' was a 1.75 & spinning a little. I got a rocking motion in my truck tonight when launching. I was having to do big burnouts to get them to hook. So once these tires or done if I don't sell them first, I'm going with a full race slick. So IMO if you go with the m&h dr's get all 4.

Sorry you're having a hard time, but thanks for the input.

From my angle, no matter which tire I choose, I need 4 new tires. So I'm thinking like this.......2 traction tires plus 2 front runners.....vs......4 traction tires that I can rotate front to back(burnouts on rears before launch). Then the traction tires(whole set) should last twice as long, while giving me the traction of a 4x4 launch. I don't think my overall cost of the 4 tires will differ that much either way, maybe $100?

I was hoping that somebody who races their 4x4 would chime in with a story about "I've tried both ways, and now I only run slicks on the rear" or whatever. But none of the 4x4 guys are talking. All the fast guys got quiet about their setups.
