Default Feb 23 West Coast Meet and Track Day results!!!

Ok, so I though I would start a thread for the guys who attended the West Coast Meet and track day we had here in Phoenix.

I'll go first. Here was my best pass.

60' 1.78
1/8 time 7.99
1/8 speed 86.94
1/4 time 12.58
1/4 speed 106.374

on 13.5 psi with 1/3 meth and 2/3 windshield washer fluid.

I made 7 passes on the day starting in full street tune at 7psi and cutout closed (14.18@94.125) to 14psi, open cut out, 17.5* of timing with 1, 8* hit of KR at in the last 80' of the pass (12.670@105.815).

Also, I just put new tires and 17" steel chrome wheels on my truck where the last time I ran a month ago, I had 16" steel chrome wheels. Same tires, only for 17's (275-60 Toyo Proxies S/T's) The new tries and wheel are 59lbs, where the old ones were 52Lbs. Best time last time out was a 12.69@106.5 at 12psi of boost but the new wheel combo is an 1" taller.

I have to thank GM for making a GREAT 4.8 engine and such an AWESOME transmission with the 4l60. This thing is super! Still going strong!

Very nice time and trap speed. You must be enjoying that front mount.

my best run was against Aaron with his Cammed 5.3 ECSB. I made probly about 7 passes as well.. hah, getting back on the 60 my time slips decided to bail on me at about 70 but I still have my 1st and 2nd run. 2nd was the best:

Oh ya, forgot I wanted to see how restrictive my FlowTech Warlock muffler with the built in cutout was. So I made a pass with street tune and cutout on with 11psi of boost, and it ran about a 13.5. I did nothing but pull the cutout off the back of the muffler and made another pass and ran a 13 flat, . I guess I should be looking for a different muffler, so I'm not giving up so much on the street.

I made 2 runs with the 50 shot
R/T .208 same for both runs (consistency is key, lol)
60's were 1.77/1.82..slightly less than average for me.
12.37@108.x
12.42@107.x
Starting IAT's were 120* even though the weather was fantastic. I had a great time even if I didn't beat my best I ran safely and made it home in one piece!

Nice track, that was sincerely fun!

Ran full weight at 5300lbs. (bed cover, tailgate, subs, speaker box, back seat,)

12.48@111 w/ a 1.9 60'

I really didnt expect to run much faster than a 12.50 at full weight. I need to buy HPTuners now.

My best of the day was 11.69 @ 119.xx. I'm at work, don't have the slips in front of me...I'll post the rest later. I think I pulled a 1.80x 60' on that run. My best 60' of the day was a 1.71, but it was a slower time. I was having a problem with a misfire on some runs...it was intermittent. I think I may have to go to a little colder plug or something. Any time I got over about 14 psi I had problems, except for the 11.69 run. That was at about 14.5 psi. It was the only clean high boost run I got. Most of the rest of my runs were right around 12.00, trapping around 114 with the misfire.

Good info! I'm surprised to see 0.5 sec. difference with the caps off.

We were able to do some shake down runs with Hank's SSR at SpeedWorld on Saturday. This SSr is a 6 Speed and is proving to be a little hard to become consistent with. Like stated these are shake down runs at just 10psi of boost. We found a few more things to spend money on. The Upper Control Arms for the rear axle were bending on launches and unloading the rear suspension. The tires were actually moving 2.5" forward in the wheel wells during the launch and shifts. We also need a line lock to hold the SSR still long enough to be able to heat the rear tires up for the starting line. Hank will scan the time slips for these runs so I can add them to the post.

It is a 2005 SSR 6 Speed with a 427 LS2 and the MP122HH MagnaCharger at 10 PSI of Boost.
