Default filter ques??

i have a aem cai and i read they dyno 3.5hp more w/o the filter...any truth to this???

i always run a filter i was just thinking about makeing 1 pass at the track without thats y i asked if there was any truth in this 3.5hp diff

btw ive run many things at the track with or w/o at the track this does not hurt anything so calm down buddy

take out your headlight and run it without a filter and see what it does. 1 pass wont kill it

FWIW, a K&N 14" round filter with an Xtreme lid lost 8hp on the dyno with my setup vs. no filter. Pretty much any paper or cloth filter will lose some power. Some of the thin foam filters don't lose any power, like the UNI filter.

The headlight out seems to be a forsure 10th or 2. I know I personaly gained 2 tenths from taking my headlight out. 3 runs in, 3 runs out same night similar temps for all runs.

I would think that no filter at the track could help a touch. Not going to move moutains, but might make a hard nipple from a soft one.
