Default Finally getting to go to the track.

If we don't get the afternoon showers they are talking about.

Main reason for the trip is to finalize a bet that by buddy's 306 mustang won't run faster then a 13.5 on street tires. I will let you know how that turns out.

I am also taking my "06 Tahoe just for fun. Hoping it will run a 15.9 or better! I think it should but being completely stock it really seems to be such a dog down low with the damn TM.

What do you think it will run? ET and MPH. As long as the rain holds off I will have video and slips of the stang and my truck.

My official guess 15.8@72.

Milan They stay open long after norwalk has shut down. I think they have atleast 2 weeks left. Kinda long drive for you but it is about an hour from norwalk to milan.

16.6138@85.25 The second slip is my best 60 of the day. I tried 4wd and it didn't hurt or help my 60 and the E/T was within .2 so it didn't seem to slow me down much. The best 60 was in 2wd.

I was expecting slightly faster but not concerned as this is the family machine!

The mustang was exactly what I thought it was. It is a 306 with a small cam 5 speed car. Looks good but nothing special.

The bet was 13.5 or slower. I knew traction and the driver were working for me. He got two clean runs at 13.7 and 13.8. Slicks of some sort it should be right at 13 flat.

I will post video of the mustang soon.

I had a friend with a clean 5.0 fox cammed and usual bolt ons and he would only run 13.6s to 13.7s on street tires

13.7 seccond run of the night

13.8 last run of the night

For the record I had never sat in the car before but gave it a shot down the strip after driving 50 feet from the staging lanes and ran 14.8 and something else rediculous on my seccond try.

Untill you spend time at the track and pay attention people don't realise how slow mustangs truely are. Obviously you can make anything fast but when you start in the 14s and a cam, small over bore, intake, exhaust and small other things you are lucky to get a low 13. That is rediculous.

Every bolt on mustang ive ran or witnessed running at the track ran 12.9- 13.8

Def turds. Loved spanking their *** in my heavy 4x4 haha.

There are only 2 good things about a mustang, they sound good, and are domestic, other than that they are boat anchors.

I can drive and he admits he isn't the best at smacking gears. I drove the car from the end of the staging lanes to the water box and down the track. I never shifted it before. Also with traction being such an issue you had to hit gears lightly anyhow.

A 12 sec. mustang is hard to come by without a ton of work done.
