If you start at 13.9 stock gears and slicks take you to maybe 13.5 then you are going to drop 350+ hp of nitrous and make it hook. Not possible plus chances are the motor will be in a million peices if you spray 350 through it, especialy on a stock fuel system.

Mustangs don't start at 13.9 from what I have seen so that is a rare if ever true scenario. Go from 14.2 or slower and obviously it becomes more impossible.

Oh yah I forgot trucks don't hook on slicks so a stang def will not It doesn't take 600 hp to get 12's in a freaking 2800 lb car.. Bottom line. A driver, cam, heads, stock bottom end 302 car will go damn close if not high 12's on regular tires..

I think more then anything it has to do with the set up , cam specs , heads ,intake manifold ,ect....
I have 2 friends both with 5.0's , one of them did a cam spec'd by a( local 5.0 guru called mustang manny), AFR's, and went with a carb set up,5 speed and v6 mustand springs ,and some stiki tires, he went to the local 1/8 and ran 7.4's b4 those mods he was running about 9.5's
my 2nd buddy did about the same set up but with an off the shelf cam , bought at summit, he did after market heads as well and an after market intake manifold , well he was running about 9.7s when he began to mod and ended up at 9.4s regularly....

So IMO , is it possible to run 12's on a stock block 5.0 , I think so but you MUST know what your doing , the thing is that a big % of the dudes that drive them know very little to nothing about proper modding (not saying I do ), so there for most of the stangs you see on the street or track are perty slow.

I drove the car for 50 feet from the staging lanes. Never reving past 1500 rpm till I had to launch off the line. I also only go two tries down the strip so sorry I wasn't able to accomplish anything.

A 12 sec. mustang is hard to come by without a ton of work done.
From what I saw you couldn't drive half as good as he could. You were almost a full second slower.

Btw, e303 cam, ford explorer 302 top end (GT-40), and full exhaust will put a LX mustang in the 12s. Your buddy needs help. Back in highschool every 306 LX mustang I knew of was an 11 sec car. That was the 90s. Back when 13s were fast. Maybe its a Texas thing, IDK...

zero2sixt read the post above yours. It will help explain the issues.

I am going to agree to disagree. I am not changing anyone's mind and no one is showing evidence to change my mind. Therfore we aren't getting anywhere.

If you have the secret of making a 10 second car for $1000 I would love to hear that phantom. Better yet you should wright a book and publish it. I would buy one just to see the way make anything go from 13-14 seconds and run 10s for $1000.

Well man, I read that post and the one on the first page. You know, the one where you said you could drive. Maybe you needed to some more passes to get a feel for the car, idk.

I don't really care enough to prove you wrong. If you want to stand by what you're saying, cool
