I don't buy the freak thing. I'd say it's all about the combo........he was smart and didn't overcam the 5.3...all around just a great synergistic effect between all the mods.

i believe in the factory freak thing.
jogibbsilverado...... prime example. intake, longtubes, tune 14.20
on factory stall, 3.73's, factory cam. ect ect
