first day at drag week!!
we got loaded up at 4:30 am. i went to look for my glasses but found them in the driveway ran over and destroyed we hit the road by 5am. it rained all the way from omaha to davenport, about 5 hours.
pulled into the track about 10am and did all the paperwork stuff. they gave me lucky number 13 . it rained some more. by 3pm it was finialy dry enough to run. i unloaded the junk in the back of the truck and let the bottle warm up a little. pulled onto the track with pump gas and stock firejunk tires and riped off an 11.03. . i am in the 11.0 daily drive class so i am very happy about this.
next run was a 11.11 with the same settings. i turned the boost controler up a little and tried it again and must have over done it because i riped the tires loose and had to abort on the 3rd run. i turned it back down but still up a little from the first run and ran a 10.988@124. that was enough for me. today was just a test and tune, tomorrow the event starts but i feel prety good about being able to come close to an 11.0. now i just have to make the trip without anything breaking.
there are suppose to be as many as 200 people this year compared to 45 last year but there must have been a lot of no shows. for most of the 3 hours of test and tune there was no lines at all, NONE.
a dude from omaha that is doing the 12.0 class was able to pull off a 12.2 in his TA with a smoked clutch but now his car is broke. someone is bringing him one from omaha but changing it wont be all that much fun.
oh yeah. i got to sit in a gt40 today. that is a very sweet car. i think it is 100% stock and the guy clicked off a 11.6 with it. there are a lot of killer cars here.
