First Run
Well I finally got a motor that has stayed together for 1000 miles and is running really well. Went to the local track for their test and tune nite, was a little dissapointed but it has alot more in it. Especially if I change stall converter and I think I need more cam. And of course I need to hone my burnout and light abilities. I was terrible with an automatic.
My best out of 5 runs was 12.69 @ 106 on the motor. Have not used the nitrous yet. Stayed around 12.69 to 12.75, so was pretty consistent. The temp was 90 + and the humididity was high.
Just changed my fuel system to a A1000 Aeromatic and 3 regulators. with #10 line from tank to pump to regs. #6 to carb and fuel side of nos and #8 return to tank.
It spun at first off the line with 15 #'s in slicks and let it down to 13#'s did alittle better then went to 12#s with a better burnout and thought I 'd stopped spinning, but my times weren't any better.
My best 60' was 1.79. I will be working on my ability behind the lights and at the lights. No excuses, I need practice. (and more stall.)

Hi Eric My motor is a 6.0 stoker= 410 cubes (408 stroker kit bored .040.). Calles forged crank, calles forged rods and .040 over 11.to1 Diamond pistons. Stock cast block heads.(with the heads my cr is probably around 10.5). Comp cam 224/230 dur-581/588 lift. As I'm learning now not enough cam. Edelbrock performer intake with a Pro Systems 850 carb. A1000 Aeromatic fuel pump with 3 Regulators. 1 to carb 1 to fuel side of nitrous and 1 for bypass back to tank. TCI super streetfighter turbo 350 with a 2800 stall which is not enough either, and a set of 4.10's with Cal-Tracs and Rancho 9000's in the back. Am planning on starting with a 100 shot and hopefully working my way up to 250 shot. Thanks for asking. Steve

That would have been a good cam for the stock 6.0 but very small for the fire breathing monster under the hood now.
Can't complain too much about a 12 second truck. That should run 11s easily with some small tweeks.

Tci actually make decents converters for th-350's, now send it off and have it stalled to 33-3500 and made spragless and watch it run, i agree cam needs 240= duration, i'm in that on my stock shortblock and it runs 7.70 on motor, 6s on the dope next time out, also i would look into a super vic or vic jr intake over the performer, just my .02

Hi Bob Just as soon as I get the pickup back from the guy who is putting the roll bar in, I will get to work on cam. Have got a 240/248 dur. and 595/612 going to go in. Then will pull trans and send Chris a pic to see if it is a billet type and can be reworked to a 4000 stall converter. If it can then I can save 300 to 400 bucks. I really want to see 11's on the motor. Well I better go have to head for Ames, Ia. then pick up a load in KC. SEE-Ya
