Default First time out does this sound about right?

So I went out to the track tonight to watch a few friends and decided to run the truck for the first time just for fun. Based on the mods does this sound about right?

Mods:

2000 5.3 ECSB with 02 OS
Stock stall and trans, 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ (87 lbs each), 3.73 rearend
K&N CAI
TSP 220 cam
Stainless Works LT's and ORY with 18" Magnaflow dumped after the axle
HP tuners by me

RT: .651
60ft: 2.676
1/8 ET: 10.782
1/8 MPH: 68.60
1000': 13.844
1/4 ET: 16.395
1/4 MPH: 88.78

I've got an FLT level 5 and a Circle D 2800 coming up next week and I'll try to find some better tires before the next races so I should be faster next time out but I'm just wondering if I'm in the ball park right now. I only got 2 runs in tonight since I got there a bit late and right before I was going to make my third pass someone oiled down the track and shut down area and then the next car after they got that cleaned up lost an axle and wheel and sent gear oil everywhere so they just shut it down for the night. FWIW it was a great time out and both runs were against NNBS trucks which resulted in one win and one loss.

put the converter in and get some lighter/shorter tires and you will be happy with the results. that alone will at least help out that 2.6x 60ft

thats probably about right. that cam with no stall is more than likely a dog on the low end side. hell these trucks are dogs low end in stock form. im making my first times tomorrow and then will run again after my cam is put in to see some before and after numbers. the stall and shorter tires will give you 15 second passes for sure

The truck is a 4wd and yeah running mud tires definitely doesn't help the times. I'm hoping the stall, trans, and smaller tires will put me low 15s. I ran against an 09 RCSB 2wd 5.3 with a CAI and a hypertech which ran 15.3 so I've got a bone to pick next time.

Any recomendations on what tires to run on a 16" rim? Not a whole lot of selection out there.

Thanks
Brian

285/75/16 is a down grade from 33" tires.

I'm running 15.88 on 35's with just tune, cold air intake and headers.

15.97 here with only a tune. On 22's. I might have missed it but did you launch in 2hi or 4hi? 2hi netted me better times

with no wheel spin i think 2hi would net better times. 4hi should only be used if you need help hooking.

Yeah I dont make enough power to spin these 22's off the line, so 2wd launch got me a 15.97 and a 15.96, and 4x4 launch got me a 16.08 and a 16.07

Just a tip. I also noticed I chirped second on these big shoes lol. Mustve been that vette servo lol

Lol thats depressing. What gear are you running?

I was launching in 2 HI with little or no wheel spin on 305/70/16. I think 285/75/16 should be the same height. I just picked up a set of used 265/75/16 Dueler Revos for fun to see if that helps. But when the trans and converter get here I'm guessing I'll be spinning those off the line.

Anyone running a 28 to 31" street tire at the track with a converter or do most guys just step it up to an ET Street or something of the like.
