I went to that track once, da was 4000 feet and it was 45 degrees outside, you would run .5 to .8 better at a sea level track.

On top of your own traction issues, our weather around here does not help ETs at all. The open rear isn't helping you either. Figure a good half second going to Ennis just from the lower DA; closer to a full second in Baytown. Mid 15s is pretty respectable around our parts for a truck. For reference my stock 5.3 Yukon with a 3.73 gear would run low 17s at best. Slap some tire on it, take it back out and it should net some better results. Get that 60' down and let us know the results. Don't get discouraged!

thanks guys...next time i go (if i dont have some traction aids by then) im gonna try leaving the line super light off idle.

In my experience, its better to try and at least preload the suspension. leaving off idle will shock the suspension and won't help traction anymore than leaving off the limiter.

hmmm, i always seemed to have more traction issues if i foot braked it with the stock tc. with the stall though i foot brake to 1500 and get pretty good results.

to the OP, letting out a hair to give the tires a chance to hook if you're blowing them off already or just rolling into the throttle off the line instead of mashing it down will help out those 60' times. the gas pedal isn't an on/off switch.

And it may be different for different cars...that was just my personal experience in my LT1 car. Every vehicle/driver will have a different technique that works best for them, its just finding that right one that nets you the best results.
