Default first time to the track

these are the three best runs in the c10. i was running 10 psi in the rear tires and have been messing with the timing. gonna do a few things to it and take it back out and see what she does. are these good times for the first time out?

blew the radiator on the way home. i'm just glad it didn't do it on the track

ill have some videos up later

10 psi!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?! That is way low, super light cars run 15-18 on the low side.

Were you sleeping, confused, or just testing things with your reaction times?

Times are respectable what are the details on the truck?

i started out at 15 psi but was still not hooking up. dropped it to 10 and did much better. im running a 325/50-15 bfg drag radial.

just learning the truck

and the truck is a cammed 454 with a 2500 stall, turbo 400 and a 12 bolt posi rear end with 3.73s. i need lower gears im shifting to 3rd at the end of the 1/8.

its getting a new stall, some new drag radials, new radiator and a tune up to see what it does. just getting a base line on the times.

If you had to take the drag radials down to 10 psi to get them to hook than you need some suspension work. In theory, the more air pressure you can run in drag radials and hook the faster you will go. I run around 16 psi in my mickeys but have been as low as 14 psi to get to work. THat is also with a traction bar and single adjustable shocks in the rear. I am by far a suspension expert as I still have to buy some more parts for it to work even better. I am just going by what many people who I know that run x275 and drag radial stock suspension classes

Suspension work is on the agenda. First I gotta get it running right and. New radaitor. Thanks for the info.

Also the track wasn't very sticky. I hook better on the street

Sounds like you need more stall in the truck man. A 3200 would wake that thing up

It break stalls to 2500 and flashes to 4k. Does that sound like something is wrong with it?
