It's a 454 the cam is a 240/242 595 that's is questionable, lt headers. Turbo 400 trans with 2500 stall that flashes to 4k. 12 bolt posi rear end. I think the gears are 373. I'm shifting into 3rd at the 1/8 mark.
If I dont hand shift it it shifts to early. There mite be more done to the motor I just dont know. He did say it needs a better coil. Hope that helps out a little bit

Yea I would agree with higher shift point. But only if you aren't feeling the motor run out of its power. It's a fine line to hit but it just takes some practice. Definitely find out what gear you have in the rear. 3.73 is a decent gear. I had a set in my old truck I had in high school. Ran great but I definitely needed a higher stall. I ran the same as you with a stock bottom end 350 with a 510 lift 234 duration on a 115 lsa. Had a mini blower on top. It was fast but definitely needed a higher stall.

Sounds like a 3200 stall is gonna be ordered along with nitrous kit to help the top end haha. When I get off my rotation and get home I'll update y'all on if I find anything wrong that would choke the motor. I am gonna change the carb to manual secondary's and see if that doesn't help some.
Thanks everyone for the ideas

I'm not sure right off hand. When I get back I can figure it out. I just got this truck not to long ago and I'm only home 3 days out of 6 so I havnt messed with it just a whole lot. But if it's smaller than a 750 mite explain why I can't get over 5 k down the track

Yea possibly. Me n my dad built his mud truck motor which is a 454 all stock with a 555 lift on a 230 duration. Has a high rise single plane intake and a 750 edelbrock carb on it. Truck has 42 inch tires and it will turn those big tires over like they aren't there.
