Going to the track fri with the new 418.. Predictions?
Going to make it to Sac this weekend. I plan on mainly running 1/8 mile since there is no cage in the truck. If I see something good on the clocks, well, I will keep my foot in it. Here is the down low if you don't know.
Old times with the 347ci / 4L80E combo NA
60' - 1.603
1/8 ET - 7.249
1/8 MPH - 96.4
1/4 ET - 11.456
1/4 MPH - 118.672
That motor made 449rwhp with the converter locked and 402rwhp with it unlocked.
The new motor is a:
Pump gas friendly 11.14-1cr 418ci LS3 motor
AFR 225 heads
245/260 106/109 .646/.629 hydraulic roller
Super Victor intake
Dominator throttle boddy
This motor through the same drive train made 521rwhp with the converter locked and 469rwhp with it unlocked.
I recently swapped out the power hungry / heavy 4L80E for a built powerglide. Converter in the 80E was a 4,500, this one flashes to 5,200 on the trans brake.
Truck weighs aprox 3,400-3500 with me in it, has 4.56 gears and a 30" tall drag radial.
Passes will be NA only.
Any guesses?

Obviouly traction is important. Did you run the radial last time out? I am curious to see if you can make the radial stick with the new power, especialy off a brake.

I will mainly run 1/8, but trust me, I will be running it out the back door at least twice. Yes, the truck in my sig.
Here are a couple short videos of the old combo.

This is the new combo at a local 1/8 mile deal, no track prep, no clocks, 73 and earlier American vehicles only. According to the Gtech pro, which has been with in .1 and 1mph on just about every pass at a full 1/4, I ran a 7.3x @ 105mph with a 2.0x 60' at this event, only pass I didn't have to lift and rolling in to the throttle (2nd pass).

Unfortunately or fortunately, my budy at the track told me that the TNT they had on Friday was for the Nastolgic racers that were going to be running in the Sat event. So the TNT wouldn't be the normal $45, it was going to be $50 + $100 for the event on Sat with no way around it.
Truck is going next weekend to the chassis guy for the cage, so, it will be a couple months now.
