J/K!

This is a nice helmet which is fairly inexpensive. Open face helmets are better in my opinion unless you are going faster than 150mph. Even Warren Johnson used to wear an open face.

The Great Gazoo. LMAO!! That is what I felt like though.

So, that open face helmet is ok for the track? I will have one pronto if so, make it easier to get my freaking glasses on.

Oh, and I smell a ban coming on.

It's all in fun Cuz'. I love the new Avatar tho!
The open face helmets are good to go. They make seeing everything better in my opinion. I've seen those G-Force helmets in person and they are a nice piece for the money. Hardly can tell the difference between the Simpson and the G-Force.

BADMOFO - That link to the helmet, is it to the 650 or 750? Does it need a chin strap? That is the only difference I see between the two.

The difference in the helmets is the SFI ratings. The higher priced version has a nomex lining (and prob. nomex chin strap). You don't need that unless you plan on trapping over 150mph (I think). Both helmets have a chin strap....doh! I'd prob. get the $90 one, as that is a great price. It's on sale, it's usually $139 I think.

Just checked a Jeg's catalogue in my library (bathroom). The 650 has a nylon lining and is in the book for $109. The 750 has a nomex lining and is in the book for $149. They are both on sale. FYI, the Simpson version, the Cruiser, is $149 for nylon and $269 for white nomex and $294 for black nomex, making the G-force look even better. They are nice helmets, like I said, a friend has one that I've seen in person.

Actually, I didn't think about the Gazoo thing until reading this thread, but I was wondering where the space shuttle was parked at

You'll love the open faced helmet.

With the Helmets, make sure whatever helmet you get has a Snell rating, should be at least Snell2000 rating at this point. I used a borrowed helmet when I went a month or so ago and it had no rating. Luckily the tech guy let me use it since it was a Fri. night street legal thing and it was my first time to that track.

As far as the cage goes, isn't it 11.99 or faster requires a cage unless the vehicle is completely stock running between 11.49 and 11.99? (like the new Vette Z06s and Vipers that can run an 11 straight off the show-room floor)

Quick Reply: helmets, what you got???
