Default How much can a 2 piece drive shaft handle?

Just finished my 92 s10 4.8/t56 swap with a ford explorer 8.8 with 4.10s. Made 312 rwhp and 308 TQ and I used the stock 2 piece drive shaft. Had to shorten the Trans side 1", couple new u joints and a new carrier.

By the time it was said and done I could have got a new one piece made. Will this thing handle hard launches? Never pushed a 2 piece DS like this.

It's not a ton of power but it rolls out pretty good for a baby motor with baby cam baby carb and baby intake with small headers.

I'm spraying more nitrous than what your truck is making on a stock 2000 ecsb 2 piece driveshaft.

Yea, but you have a larger carrier. That is my main concern.

A two piece is stronger then a one piece.

I have been 9.36 @ 147 on my two piece driveshaft. truck weighs 4668. I cut 1.4xx 60'.

had driveshaft originally made by PST. had a pinion yoke break, which broke driveshaft. it was rebuilt locally by a company called Driveshaft power. I have 4150 front and rear joints, larger carrier and largest chromolly tubes they make.

Evidently a one piece cannot handle it either:

Built today, brand new from scratch, and now I'm not only broke, but still out a s10.

quit dicking with those hollow drive shafts. find a steel shaft from a 99-03 Silverado and figure out a way to get it into that s10.

and quit doing 6k clutch dumps. did it take out the gas tank this time?
