let me rephrase...actually have a company who specializes in driveshafts, build one. Not take a stock one, cut it down, then install.

I could have swore he said he got that shaft at a swap meet then had it cut down...either way, I wouldn't say they specialize in shafts..

Yup, that is a one off, built to my spec drive shaft.

And what the hell is a junky stock silverado drive shaft gonna do that a custom piece won't? Break faster? Don't think I know anyone that has built a drive shaft, installed it and broke it in a hour.

either your new driveshaft was junk, or something in your driveline is messed up. your 4.8 isnt strong enough to be breaking 2 shafts in 2 miles. even with the t56.

the stock driveshafts in silverados go into the 9 second 1/4 mile range in 4,500 lb trucks. nothing junky about that.

maybe the first broken shaft bent something? pinion or tranny output?

Is take a built DS over a silverado piece, since it wouldn't have made it out the driveway with a stock silverado part. Lol

your limp *** 4.8 shouldnt be breaking anything especially in that light *** truck. i'd be willing to bet a stocker would last longer than that piece you got. have you talked to them yet?

Seeing as they build them for race cars and everyone else, I'd bet your wrong.

Anyway, I'm eating parts, he is eating the labor. He knows it will happen again as I do, but at least he is helping me to get another in and take measurements to figure out what the problem is.

there is no way i'm wrong. there was either a defect in the shaft, or something in your driveline is messed up or out of alignment.
