how much hp needed to achieve times i want
whats goin on everyone. had a few questions about cutting some times off the 1/4.
the first time out at the track on the trucks old setup i couldnt better than a 14.9. after a live tune, tbss intake manifold, new air filter and some 70/30 drag shocks i dropped down to a 14.3 @93. i know the rule of thumb is 10hp is a tenth but isnt that changed when you are getting closer to the 13 second bar?
also as for launching goes i can only fully preload and when the last yellow hits i cant go above 1/4 throttle without blowing the tires off and ease it until im at the 60" i figured if i could actully get traction i could probably get the times desired, specially with my rancid 2.1 60". as for the traction deal if i get that situated how much hp will i need to break a 13.9? this winter i was planning on throwing some prc stg 2.5 5.3 heads or the ls6 heads on, as well as junk the 78mm tb, throw some yella terras on, udps, ls7 lifters and a couple other things as well as a retune
if anyone could point me in the right direction itd be appreciated
thanks

Your 2.1 60' can't be spinning much if at all because a 2.1 is about as good as it is going to get. I would honestly say thst it is damn good for your truck being lifted and bigger tires. If I am correct you still have w stock stall.
If that is correct then a stall alone should get you very close to a 13.9 if not 13.8. Number one mod should be a stall, if your main goal is 13.xx and high 13s are sufficient.

Says 4k stall?? If you really have a stall then just launch in 4x4 off stall or get some 29 drag radials and lauch off the 4k stall. Then expect a mid 1.8 60ft and a 13.9 time with same exact mods you have now.

06 i was meaning as in how much more power do i need to cut the 4 tenths to break 13s. custm im leaving on full preload of a 4k stall, anything past 1/4 throttle ignites the tires. if i was able to give it half or more that 60 would probably drop quite some time. driver i think itd definitley do it in 4wd but without the braces and with the torsion lift and non idler/pitman drop the suspension geometry is too messed up. im hoping heads over this winter does the trick in 2wd. i think next is the 90/10s and srd assasins. rule of thumb is every tenth you cut off at the 60" is equal to 2 tenths in the big end if i remember correctly

lol no spray till 13s are met on motor as for spinning if i preload hard and give it more than 1/4 throttle itll ignite them. this pass was a 14.3 with passanger at 92.64, spun a tad out of the hole but wasnt too bad and was able to roll into it pretty quick

I missed the 4k stall.
If you can get it to you probably have another couple of tenths in the 60. I would be surprised to see you get much better then 1.9. But at 1.9 you have a slim chance to clean .4 off your time by the end. So if you it does drop any lower then that you should have a 13.9 in the bag. Also you remove that passanager and you might be able to solidify the 13.9 also(with traction of course).
As for a head swap your best bet is a set of 317s with the complimenting stock short block underneath.
