into the 15's!
ran my truck down the track last night, improved from my last time down, what do you think? track was packed and only got to run once. dumped the clutch at 2k rpms, it didn't bog, but it hopped quite a bit.
last track day
friday night's run. only changes from then are i now have 285/60r17's instead of 265/65r17's, and i no longer have the fake dual flowmaster muffler, and now running a single 3" resonator off of an f150
Reaction time = .397
60' = 2.52
330 = 6.816
1/8th = 10.299
MPH = 69.61
1000 = 13.362
1/4 = 15.952
MPH = 87.55

Always glad to see it get better.
The truck looks good but with that 4.8 it will always be slow. Boost is the only way you aren't waisting money in my opinion. Nitrous is reasonable but you put a 200 shot on it and you are still only running 13.5ish. Cam and all the other crap and you might be just cracking the 12s? Regardelss have fun with it and enjoy, just be honest in your expectations. Don't think that with anything less then two or three grand you are going to win a race agains anything respectable leaving the 4.8 in there. That is if you go nitrous, to boost it you will probably be four to five grand easily. Swap a 6.0 for under a grand and you will already be pushing near the 14s plus every mod beyound will make much more power the it will on the 4.8.

been thinking about going 4.10's
already got rid of the flowmaster, im running a straight through resonator off of a 2013 f150. it does need a tune, the AFR is at 15 on the stock tune
thanks, im not looking to set records, just to be fairly quick with a 5 speed for now.
how does the 60' look? is that about what is to be expected with my gears and an open diff?
Always glad to see it get better.

TECH Junkie
Well I think its pretty good. My 99 5.3 was barely quicker and my 60s were 2.35 to 2.43 with 3.90s and posi with 265/75/16s. Great start!

The 60 is what is to be expeted. Limited traction due to tires and diff, small amount of low end torque. I don't know that you will drop much with tires, locker, or gears. My 6.0 with 100 shot out of the hole was 60 footing at around 1.8-1.9 off the bottle with a small 2800 stall 2.0-2.2 without spinning. So your 2.5 I don't think is going to get much better without adding power. If you get some slicks I think they would overcome the open diff and they might drop .2 off your 60'. The should be good for .3 in the 1/4 atleast.
Fairly quick is mid-low 13s in my opinion. All I am saying is know what kind of performance to expect if you stick with the 4.8. Last thing you want to do is wake up one morning in a year after spending $2000+ and relize you are only running 14.5 then find out most everything you have done can't be used to go much faster because it won't work with the next round of upgrades.
