Default Launching a Magnacharger...

I am two wheel drive and will be running on 275/40/r17 MT Et Street drag radials... I just purchased a Circle D Trailblazer Torque Converter that should stall to 2600. What is the best way to launch? I have read hold it at 1200 and then stomp it I have read fully brake it up to 2600 and go is there a proper way to do this considering I have a maggie too?

You'll just have to try and see what works better for you, some like to stall it as much as they can, some like to flash the 'veter, just see what works best with you and your truck.

i always start at 2000 and let it eat... then go up and down from there. compare 60' times on each run.

Launching is a personal thing. I mean, you will have to try different approaches and see which yields the best 60' times. I started off idle and now bring it up to about 2200 rpm and stick it.

Sounds like most of you are sitting right under the stall limit and punching it. Any problems with a hard launch with large gears 3.90 4.10? I have heard my downfall is my 3.42 and I want a good launch are they enough?

Trial & error is the only way to know what will work best for each setup. "Punching it" gave me spin and a lame 60'--in the 2.4+ range. Stalling to 2100-2200 then a progressive push of the pedal is the only way to keep mine from spinning, and it worked well enough for a 1.83 on street tires. I have a set of 275/50-17 M&H drag radials that I will use next time out, and will go through exactly what Bill said...learn what works best.
