Default Launching with stall and stock tires ?

How do you fellers do it. I've got a 3000 stall and stock tires. 275/7?/17. Tried my first launch last night. Held 1500 RPM, released the brake and stomped the gas at the same time. It's was a great smoke show, lol. Am I supposed to ease into the gas, then smash it? help me out please.

Stock on that should be a 245/70R17. You can try to go off idle, but you're likely going to have to roll into the throttle. Run them at about 22psi with a mild burnout.

I eun mine at 16-17psi... I do more of a burnout, and launch at about 1300... I roll into the throttle... if you stab it, get ready for some 2.6X 60' times...

I ran a friends VHO on those tires and pulled off a 2.0 60' and on a better prepped track could have gotten a 1.9 or so. I was just doing a mild burnout. first gear to 6k, shift to second, let off the brake, then about 5k+ in second until I was about about 10-15 feet from the box.

dont waste your street tires, get you some e/t's or slicks for the track , eventually you'll end up doing it anyways...

+1, You'll end up buying new street tires going to the track spinning doing burnouts on them, might as well buy some drag tires and wheels now.

my trick was to stall up to about 1500-1700 and just let off of the brake when the green pops. dont give it any more gas until your truck rolls about 10 feet out there...then aggressively lean into the gas NOT STABBING IT.

pick a stall point just below where the tires break loose when you let off of the brake peddle.

I cut a 3.1 60 foot once stabbing it, and that was on 285/50 20's

BTW, just spin the street tires over to clean them out; burning them down will not help at all. Also steer clear of the water box.
