Default leaf spring Hilux drag racing launch help?

Hi guys,

Took my 4x4 dual cab to the 1/8 mile last Sunday and had all sorts of trouble getting it off the line.

It's a 383 stroker running just under 20psi through a built th700r4 and 2,500 stall. 4.56 gears and 31 inch tyres.

Running stock leaf springs and shockies all round.

What do i need to happen to make the truck hook up ?
No sticky on the track.

ran a 2.4 second 60 ft and 92mph at 8.63 1/8 mile.

any ideas?

here's a you tube vid of the truck:

I don't really want to go much faster in mph but i do want to get better 60 ft times. what do i need to do to the suspension to launch harder?

Are you spooling the turbo up and leaving in boost??

I'm just idling at the line with foot on brake and then stabbing throttle about halfway on the last yellow light at the same time taking my foot off the brake.

Then flooring it at about the 60 ft mark.

You need to be spooling the turbo in the lights... We need as much information about the combo as possible, turbo sizing, cubic inches, compression, converter, gearing weight etc...

Right now by just stabbing it off the line you probably starting to build your boost as you cross over the 60'. Like mentioned above spool that turbo up when you launch. Being 4x4 you should hook pretty decent.

Not sure how much that flat bed weighs but that might be one downside is you have very little weight over the rear tires also

I have full controll over the ecu... what's the best way to tune it for boosting off the line?
There is dual maps available and I have a button on the shifter that can immediately switch between maps so I could try retarding spark and go rich before launch to spool up? hows it done?

Thanks

launching in 2wd. The front drive shaft is home made(needed clearance for auto) and I don't trust a 4x4 launch or the drive hubs for fear of steering me off the track if something brakes.

Does anyone here have any ideas for me with regard the suspension setup for my truck to get the weight transfer to the rear on launch?

Have stock 6 leafs in the rear and stock shokkies all round.

I have enough hp for how fast i want to go just can't get it down off the start how it is setup right now.

What do you blokes have in the rear to help the leaf springs ? do you take leafs out or add more?

C'mon men, I'd appreciate some tips please, next meet is in November and I can't go any faster untill I figure out what needs to happen in the rear of the car. I'm heading down the path less traveled over here so not much local advise is available to me here.

I'm stuck at 2.40 60ft times.
