Being 4x4 I would want to launch in 4x4. It's the easiest traction you will get.

You can get Caltracs or something of that nature to help also.

If you nothing but leaf springs on the back, you could so a set of drag shocks in the front and back, along with a set of cal trac bars. Guys here are pulling deep into the 1.x 60 ft using that and slick. Hard to tell from the vid but were you running slicks on them passes?

I'd bet a 2 step would help you build boost at the line. That should help alot, if you can keep traction.

I have 31 x 10.5 mud wranglers on it at 20psi air pressure (white rims on rear)

I tried some 28 x 10.5 street tyres and gained 4mph but wanted to break loose up to about 120km/hr so i put the mud wranglers back on.

I'm babying it off the line trying to find the fine line between traction and the smoke show as a result the times are very erratatic and I usually get knocked out the first run after we dial in. very inconsistent. I'm the only guy on our drag strip running a 4x4 car but it is probly the crowds most favourite car there.

I watched that video and didn't see any tire spin or traction loss off the line. And he was asking about trying to tweak the tune to build boost at the line. Maybe I misunderstood the problem, but I thought he was trying to improve his 60 ft from 2.4 sec.

He is launching in 4x4, correct? He ought to be.

How soft do you blokes have the rear of your trucks? say if you walk around the back and push up and down.... do they go up and down much? and what about the front of your cars? up and down much by hand? (lol sounds funny but you know what I mean.)

he is 4x4 and i said the same thing but he doesn't sound to positive about his setup holding up

2wd launch, The front shaft is home made from an old quad bike axle and not very strong... just strong enough to get me out of a bog. I needed a skinny shaft to clear the th700r4 when i put it in the truck.

The launch's in the video are at idle and then babying it to 60ft or just before and feeding the pedal into it being carefull not to brake free. (well as best i can anyway)

I'd never heard of the caltracs but I've looked em up and they don't look real hard to make. I've got all the welding gear here so are they a good thing to try ?
