Ok, so we all know how the STS builds boost faster when all the exhaust pipes and turbo housing are good and hot. So I decided to try something last night. A couple of minutes before it was my turn to go in the staging lanes, I used the bidirectional controls to command 11:1 fuel and 6* of timing while just sitting there (swich it back before I made a ran). It runs really rough , but it's dumping some REALLY hot exhaust gases in to the pipes heating them up quickly. Help me launch at 3300rpm (on a 22-2400 rpm DACCO remain TB stall) and 8 psi of boost, which netted me a 1.88 60' time

That sound pretty cool!
How did you figure out about the AFR and *6 of timing?
i can never keep this right but is 11:1 rich or lean?
Since 14.7:1 is the ideal AFR, shouldnt 11:1 be lean? that would be 11parts of air to 1 part of fuel? less air?

I just took a stab at the numbers, but It seems to work. 11:1 is rich. Less air= more fuel= rich

Next time out try -5* and maybe 10.5:1 or even 10:1 ![Happy](https://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
The old covair set used to wire up switches to "bog" the timing to heat everything up and build boost. A lot of 'em even launched that way and then threw the switch off as soon as they were spooled up. I've been trying to figure out a one switch deal with the truck, but can only come up with mangling a valet mode tune.

1.88 60ft is that good for your truck? I have been looking at switching over to turbo set up, but that seems a little bit weak on the 60ft.?We cut low 1.83's, and a best of 1.79 with a p1sc making 4 psi out of the gate? I'm not trying to be a dick, just asking.

I have a 5500lbs truck and only a 293ci motor, I would say it pretty good. That's a lot of weight to get rollin with a little *** motor.
