Default long weekend, new bests at track

tons of new bests over the weekend.

shout out to performabuilt...i beat the snot out of this transmission this weekend and it took it like a fugging champ.

friday night i drove to baytown to dial my truck down to a 7.500 for an index. ran a 7.502 and a 7.503 with 1.76 60' times. i retuned my setup to run a little hotter and ran a new PB: 11.43 with a 1.74 60' 118 mph. spinning bad but it was kind of a controled spin. round trip 92 miles 5 hot laps and go home.

saturdayi went for the 7.50 index i was dialed in for. about 50 miles round trip. put everything back to the same exact way i ran the 7.502 and 7.503...get on the track during qualifying and ran a 7.56. 7.58 and 7.62 spinning 1.80 60' times. i was a sitting duck with these times.

a buddy was watching every run and mentioned that the tires are bouncing up and down. i got pissed, had 2 guys pick up on my bed and i cranked the dog snot out of those caltracs. when they picked up on the bed the springs seperated from the caltracs about 1/4 inch. locked it all down, and made my last qualify pass. 7.42 with a 1.70 60' 94.x mph. WAY too fast and too late to slow it down haha. this was all at about 5pm 95 degrees. i knew when the sun went down it was going to go faster.

onto the index, i won first round against a mustang sitting on a transbrake. i literally had to let off the gas and slam on the brakes to let him catch back up so i didnt break out of my class. that run i ran 7.67 at 81mph i never took it out of 2nd gear lol.

next round i drew another mustang drag car on the T-brake. he caught a light on me but by the time we hit the 60' mark i was putting busses on him. same story, off the gas, on the brakes, then back on the gas. he caught too good of a light on me though. i trapped the beams .002 behind him and still broke out with a 7.48. 88mph. theres no way i could have won the race, so im not guna beat myself up about giving him too much room at the finish. did 4 more TNT passes playing with different setups, bolted my drag radials back on and drove it home past all of the guys in my class riding on trailers haha.

one of those peddling runs i hit a 1.67 60'...its too bad i didnt make that 60' out at baytown...that would have been my 11.5 run right there. 2 days, 15 passes, most of it hot lapped. 14 passes on the nitrous and cruised it home. the truck did me proud this weekend haha. definately time to give it a little TLC. theres tire all over this thing. im happy with my new records i guess. 1.67 60 and 7.42 1/8 and 11.63 on the 1/4. i think on the 1.67 60' pass i could have gone into the 7.399 range. stupid index racing lol.
