i'm not doing forged slugs, even though a flat top piston would be nice to prevent the higher mill numbers on the head i can't afford it so i am leaving the bottom end untouched except for ARP Rod Bolts and maybe a Main Stud Kit. but prolly only the Rod Bolts.

On a side note, Richard sent me the Flow chart on these 5.3 heads and its more than this motor will EVER need, its insane.

ChaChing.

Dang... Where do you work? I have to work some serious overtime and eat maybe 3 times a week to afford all that in one shot.

Personallly i'm wanting to do some minor work on my 5.3 until I decide to look for a 6.0. Once i find one I'll forge it. Would like to get it to the 12's before adding any induction or N20.

Hell of a goal to shoot for. Keep us informed on the progress. I'd love to see how it turns out.

4.8L engines have flat top pistons with the same bore diameter. Compression height is pretty close to the same as well. Easy way to bump up your compression without using forged pistons.

4.8L compression height is ~1.332" at zero deck. (9.24"-6.274"-1.634"=1.332")
5.3L compression height is ~1.331" at zero deck. (9.24"-6.098"-1.811"=1.331")

Thats good to know. I just got my 36lb chunk of purple deliciousness in the mail on friday. Im very excited about it. PI makes a great converter and are an abselute pleasure to deal with. Did you get a single or triple disc?

Which 90mm TB are you going with?
