You're trying to prevent the strap on the spark plug from turning red-hot and becoming a "glow plug", because that causes the fuel charge to ignite (pre-detonate) too soon. That pre-det will blow the strap off the plug, and can even blow a hole in a piston.

Also, looking again at your plugs, you're running too rich.

Just fyi, I run br7ef n/a. I will swap in br8ef for 150-200 shot. my motor did not like a projected plug with the qinch I am running.
They are the 7s. And I had some race gas in the tank, so the plugs look a little different. The logs definitely weren't rich

ARP studs, MLS gaskets.

Thanks for all the comments, guys.

did you find what caused the strap to burn off yet?

Projected tip 7's...... Should not be in there.

The color says rich, race gas or not. Hopefully nothing but the spark plug got hurt. I'd do a compression test while they are out.

Fwiw, I run the br6ef's that are basically a tr6 with a non-projected tip and they are working very well in my truck. That may also help you clear up some of that kr you are getting with such low timing. I think you can get that thing well into the 11's with what you have if you get this little gremlins worked out!

It was a consistent 11-11.5 every pass, and that's as far lean as I will venture while running methanol. Compression on that cylinder was 20, others were around 110. Hoping it is just a blown head gasket...
The race gas I got was 109 octane. I hadn't heard of 109 unleaded, but the guy at the fuel shack assured me it was not leaded fuel. That plug color can come from leaded fuel, but I've never heard of leaded fuel causing issues like killing spark plugs. Regardless, I hope it wasn't leaded for the O2 sensors' sake. I will be getting all new plugs though.

Thanks man. If the plugs were the reason it wouldn't take much timing, then it will only run even better once I get that cylinder diagnosed and fixed.

After reviewing the logs, it looks like there was already an issue even before the first run. Fuel trims were reporting a slightly lean mixture on bank 1 in staging right after teching in. I didn't notice it because I was looking at all the WOT data. Even then had I seen how small the difference was I probably would not have thought there was a problem. By the end of the night that gap in the fuel trims had widened up to a 10% difference. Seems that whatever pissed off that cylinder happened during the drive to the track or before.

Drop some ls9 gaskets in there, research I've done havint seen a single one lift yet. Some guys running up to 24psi on stock heads.

I was running the stock 3 layer MLS before and had the boost hit 18psi at times, and never had an issue with a head creeping up. They're pretty tough. LS9 could stand more though, no doubt.
