new best at the track
well i finally made it to the track and got a new best. temp was 55 degrees. the only thing new i had on the truck was some m/t et streets. my first pass was 13.34 with a 1.86 60ft. then i backed it up with a 13.33 with a 1.88 60ft. not to bad for the ole z71. the only thing is that when my truck hits third gear it just seems to fall on its face. does anyone know of anything that i could do to help mine out.

impressive times man! especially for the big Z. how much gas you had in the tank? i have to keep 1/4 tank in mine at the track b/c anything lower, it will cause the truck to fall on it's face in 2nd and 3rd.

Next time you are in your truck, just after it shifts into 3rd from 2nd at WOT, try holding teh brake pedal down ever so slightly, just enough to illuminate the brake lights and not actually slow the truck at all.
This will force the TCC to stay unlocked, the truck will pull much better.
If this works, then get a PCM tuner to remove WOT TCC lockup. Dont woryy the TCC will still lock at low throttle angles so fuel economy wont suffer.
In my truck not locking the TCC was worth 1- 1 1/2 tenths in teh 1/4 mile.
peace

here's the whole slip;
60ft 1.88
330ft 5.42
1/8et 8.42
1/8mph 81.52
1000ft 11.06
1/4et 13.33
1/4mph 98.74
it doesnt actually fall on its face, it just doesnt seem to pull real hard. i dont know what it could be. what size slicks do you run. and what do you shift at.
