Default new track times (pb)

we'll after a tune I got new times. I'm not too impressed (could be the 22s hurting me) , not sure if it's a good tune or ok. my gvw is 6800 plus my fat ***. It feels as if my truck doesn't get power til the end of first and shifting into 2nd. i know the 22s are killing me. I just though my times would be better with a tune than they were (were 15.8). I know I need a stall, some LTs (next mod) and maybe some gears. Give me some input.

r/t .389
60' 2.407

here's the killer, friend of mine has a 2008 Trailblazer short box LT with a 5.3L and a 460le gvw 6001

mods:
flowmaster 50 series muffler
dual efans (mini cooper S fans)
blackbear tune (all shift points were set to factory SS points)
intake (pvc)

here's his time

Times dont look bad, 22s are definitely hurting you.
Also if your going by the gvw posted on the door that is not accurate at all. You need to get it on a scale to find out for sure.

sounds about right, i think if you had a lighter wheel combo with better traction you could be running with the trailblazer. his ride is lighter and he had two tenths better on the 60ft than you.

sounds about right....the wheels are the big killer, and the ls motors dont pull till bout 3k up....thats why a stall is one of the best if not best mod.

u will prlly see a .4 drop after gears and some lighter rollin stock

Your vehicle's weight is the GVR minus the payload

GVW is not the weight of the vehicle as Michael pointed out. Not even close at that. With your mods I'd have guessed more than a .2 gain from a tune also. I'd check to see if you're getting p.e. through the full run. The Trailblazer time isn't bad either, but even that should be a bit quicker. I would think that 6400rpm shift points on that stock 5.3L are a bit high. On the dyno they peak at around 5400rpm and much past 6k they fall pretty good with the stock cam. The 5.3L Trailblazers are pretty cool, really like them. Both will respond very well to a good converter, even an I6 TB converter. BTW, what is a short box TB?
