So I just bought my first truck and the project is almost done. I am curious what everyone thinks of the project and if the truck will be pretty fast.

2001 ECSB 4x4

Was a stock 5.3L, I pulled the 5.3L out and put in a 98 camaro LS1. The LS1 has a LS6 cam in it, new valve springs, LS7 Lifters, and pushrods. It has milled, ported & polished 317's on it. Longtube headers, ORY, into catback. It is going to by dyno-tuned and has a CAI. What do you think this thing would do? I have NOT driven it yet and it will be my first truck ever.

It will run pretty decent I would think. How much did you mill off the 317's? Are you building this engine?

Depnds on how much work was done with the heads. Potentialy the LS1 will not be much faster then the 5.3 ever was. The cam isn't going to make a ton of extra power and the heads may cause you to be down a good bit of power due to loss of compression. The compression ratio of the engine with those heads will determine if it will perform great.
