OK,I was gonna let it ride with some of you guys saying "ohh its not the gears"Bullshit it is the biggest part of his issue.Ill stand behind that.Rino your truck is a not even a good comparison c'mon man a 5000# CC 4.8 with 3.23's.I bet you got a 29.5 tall tire too.Figure it out a 4.10 with a 29.5 tall tire is close to the same ratio as 3.42's with a 26 tall tire from the engine tranny's prospective.So yeah of course your 3.23's for your 4.8 with 5000#'s strapped to its *** is gonna run better with 4.10's.Dotnt forget I said there is a point of diminishing return.If someone has a legitimate theroy then back it up and explain why he has problem.Don't sit and fire off **** cause, you think somthins wrong.Seems most people here don't take any time to even understand the vehicles setup just wanna run their post count up LOL.

I actually run a 275 55 17 which is about 28.5 to 29". I'm not going for post count...lol. I am stating my opinion that I do not see how he can go with more effective gearing and be .1 slower on his 60'. I can see overgearing taking some et and mph away, but not on the 60. The gearing doesn't effect the str of the converter, it still should hit as hard with 3.90's as it does with 3.42's, but the 3.90's will tighten it up when driving around. That being said, if he changes gears back to 3.42's and goes faster, Im ordering 3.73's cause then I'll be a beliver.

thanks for the calculator and comment..the weather was defiantly a big factor..the humidity was at 80% and temp. was 80 degrees that night..and hopefully something in good condition will show up so you can do that..just go ahead and do the 6.0 so you can run 11s all day long on motor!

I do not think he needs to drop gears. I think it was weather variables and the track itself. I run 4.10s 26" drag radials, vigilante 3200 converter, in a 3900 truck. I put down 360rwhp and cut 1.7 60ft times, and go mid to high 7s on motor.. Come on up to bowman dragstrip and see the difference in tracks. Also make sure with the high iats it isn't pulling alot of timing.

the bracket on the new FAST intake that holds the throttle cable needed to be slotted in order to give the cable the correct length for the throttle body to open a 100%..it was too short, only opening the throttle body about 75% according to HPTuners.. it was shifting around 5300rpm and now it's back to shifting at 6200

hah i guess we were just too caught up in seeing how she ran to look over the little things..but we're good to go now..lets hit the track friday and see what she'll do

People complain about Douglas but there are plenty high 5 second cars that frequent that place with no issue.
Same with the old Jax Raceway...best 60' i ever got was there where there was "no" traction...lol
