Not with that converter. Probably high 12's with a 3600-3800 converter and at least a 1.7 60'.

I agree you need the Stall.

We had the same 5.3 with stock 243 heads, 224 cam, stock intake and TB, Headers, 410 gear (stock gm diff), 3600 Yank and ran 12.88 @ 105 mph. Sixty foot was high 1.7's
Dyno was 352/348 (dyno-jet).

hmm... yeah i would def like to put a nice verter in like a yank 3600 like i had in my TA, but with a stock tranny im afraid too lol... I figured the ole 100.00 TB would be ok till i break the tranny and get a built one... i wanted to reach that 12 sec time and then add either a maggie or a 150 shot and go for an 11 sec slip. This is my true DD and thats why i chose such a small cam and converter for now. Im curious how guys are running mid 12s with just bolt-ons must have a great convertor, awesome tuning and traction.

My mistake i meant cam and bolt-ons... but i did seem to read about some trucks on here going deep into the 12's with full bolt-ons a proven cam.

my buddy had a full weight ecsb with a 6.0 and a 4k stall go 12.9s. i dont care if i get 12.9s id rather have mph in the 1/4 vs a "faster et" the mph helps in street racing

It has alot to do with what da you can run in, bluecaugen runs 12.3s with bolt ons and cam/verter, but no one else can with that setup. you will need a stall for shur to get 12s, you may even need to step up the cam too. with the new extreme ramp cams and good tuning you can run alot more cam and be just as streetable. 00chevyscotts truck seems to run damm good with a 228r and 3800circled. put that in there and it will go 12s!
