Default Question About Slicks

I was able to pick up a set of Toyo drag slicks, 28x9x15. The tires are have about 1 pass on them. My question is concerning the fact the wheels that were on there originally, were screwed to the tire. Obviously the screws were very short, and did not pierce threw the other side. Am I able to run a normal set of steel wheels on here, without having to screw them down? I would think it would work fine, since the bead seals from the inside. Just wanted a second opinion.

Also the wheels I have are a 15x8 Crager steelies, w/ a 4.75 BS. Is this enough to clear and 8" drop, its an 06 Sierra, drum brakes in the rear.

Last question is, has anyone ran any of these Toyo full slicks? There a bit old, but I cant find much info on them. Thanks!
