Default rcsb with Lq9 swap

Hey guys, made it out to North Star Dragway in Denton on Saturday night to get a few 1/8th mile passes in before the tracks close for the winter. The weather was near perfect (DA was -130ft according to DragTimes.com) and everyone was cutting some pretty good times. I only made two runs since I was hitting the rev limiter several times during the 1-2 shift and didnt want to hurt anything. Still managed to get my best times so far since the motor swap. Here are the slips (left lane both runs):

First run..........

Second run............

From all the online calculators for hp and such this thing seems to be doing exactly what it should and I could not be happier with the swap. Best time I could manage with the 5.3 was 10 seconds flat in the 1/8th. Here are the specs for the whole truck:

Stock Lq9 swap (stock exhaust manifolds, stock intake/tube, clutch fan, etc.)
3.5" Y-pipe back 6.2L exhaust with 3.5" cutout at outlet of Y-pipe
Stock 4L60e with TruCool 40K and Corvette servo
Stock G80 with 3.73 gears
255/50/16 MT drag radials
Black Bear 93 Octane Tune

Using another online calculator from Wallace Racing this puts me at 13.86 at 101.2mph in the 1/4 mile. Can we get a 13sec club designation for calculated ET's?

1/4 mile estimate seems pretty on point. I went 13.7 back in the day on a stock LQ9 but I had headers. Never did go any faster N/A but there's a lot to be gained with exhaust and converter for you.

I just happen to have TSP stainless long tubes waiting to go on. After that a converter is next on the list for sure. Hope the 4L60 can take it.

I believe those calculations are very close or you might go a tenth or two faster. I have a time slip thats extremely close to them and they are a 13.6 and 13.7

Thats great to know! I have 1/4 mile timeslips when I fist ran the truck after the motor swap and went 14.2 several times. I used these slips to compare against the calculator I was using to see how accurate it was and it seemed to be dead on within a tenth or so and within 1/2 mph or so.

Did you ever post those slips? I searched, couldn't find them. Would like to see the breakdown of the runs + any other related info. (Weather, mods, tire type, etc)

No I never posted those slips. I dont have scanned copies of the slips to upload but I pasted the info from the first outing below out of the Excel file I started...........

DA 1,988 ft
Time 5:16 5:34 5:40 6:19
Car# 1 1 1 1
RT 0.407 0.475 0.409 0.232
60' 2.207 2.231 2.164 2.181
330' 6.003 6.035 5.990 5.985
1/8 9.152 9.191 9.160 9.139
MPH 77.80 77.47 77.13 77.64
1000' 11.907 11.958 11.944 11.900
1/4 14.249 14.308 14.311 14.247
MPH 96.38 96.11 95.46 96.28
Adj. 1/4 13.922
Adj. MPH 98.58

And here is the information from the second outing I posted above but this time from the same Excel file..........

DA -130 ft
Time 8:27 9:21
Car# 56 56
RT 0.961 0.591
60' 2.030 2.042
330' 5.780 5.810
1/8 8.860 8.897
MPH 81.68 81.54
1000'
1/4* 13.860 13.920
MPH* 101.28 101.11
Adj. 1/4 13.84
Adj. MPH 101.49
*Calculated from 1/8th mile times

Only difference between these two outings besides DA was:
1) I forgot to use the tow/haul mode during the first outing
2) I changed from a "straight through" muffler to a stock 6.2L muffler with a cutout before it to quiet the exhaust down for daily driving but retain flow for the track

If you look at the adjusted times (which I only calculated for the best run from each outing) it looks like I gained about a 10th and 3 mph from the tow/haul and cutout changes. However, when I used tow/haul this past outing I was hitting the rev limiter several times between the 1-2 shift but it didnt have that issue the previous outing when I forgot to use tow/haul so still need to get that sorted and maybe I would increase a bit more.

EDIT: Not sure why the numbers are all bunched together from the Excel file. If I edit the post they are spaced like normal. Sorry.

Yes same tires both times but for whatever reason I could not get them to dead hook the first outing. This past outing they seemed to hook much better. I have no idea why.

Those shorter tires no doubt helped your effective gear ratio. I'm fighting a losing battle there, 31" tall street tires with 3.73s.
