Who all have ran their truck with and without the tailgate? I was wondering if you
saw a big difference between the two. I am thinking about running without next
time I carry the truck but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt me. I know I'll
drop some weight but I didn't know if it would screw with the airflow. This may
be a stupid ?, but I just thought I would ask.

It wont make enough difference as far as airflow goes, I mean it's only a 1/4 mile, lol but the reduced weight may make traction a little bit more of an issue?
I have run with it up/down and off.
Not enough difference in the runs to determine which helped the most, I usually run with it down to try to get as much weight behind the axle as possible.

I've tried it up, down, and off. Nothing seems to make much of a difference. Don't know how much they weigh on a Chevy but they are a good 50-60lb's on a Dodge, so there is some weight savings, all be it on the wrong end of the truck. I was also thinking with it down it would put a little more weight back giving you a better launch but it's all so little if there was any difference at all, I was chalking it up to my driving inconsistancies.

weight reduction I'm doing and, every little bit helps. I'll probably just leave it on,
but I may still have to try it once.
