Default Rearend question for the 1,000+ hp guys.

I'm getting to the point of building the rear end. I torn between biting the bullet and buying a 9" floater with the 40 spline or keep my current rearend and upgrade to 40 spline axles and spool. So i'm wondering what everyone is running and opinions? My setup is a moly steel round tube chassis. Guessing 2,700-2,800lbs race weight. Running a blown alcohol 408" ls1 with a bruno 4 speed jeffco transmission. Currently a S&W fab housing with 35 spline axles and detroit locker. I'd modify this housing but it's got 3" axle tubes and strange engineering says i need 3.25" axle tubes. Thanks

Well I have a 9" under the old chassis. No passes on the new setup.

Here is what I did. Racecraft housing, strange center brakes spool and 40 spline axles. It's nice but expensive. Shouldn't break.

Can one of those be made for a nnbs truck with leaf springs? I would be very interested in one. Also can you get that with 6 bolt axles instead of 5?
