Default Is this right?

I had a friend ask how much faster a tune would make my truck(in truck lengths). I said idk. but i got home and tried figurin it up.

Supposivly a tune takes a second off 1/4 mile times(they said it on nelson performance testimonials). and most stock trucks are going ~88 mph in a 1/4.
soo.
88miles x 5280 feet =129 feet/second
-------------------
1 hour x 60min x 60 sec

and a truck length is a bout 20 feet?
129/20 = 6.5 truck lengths

so given the circumstances. a good tune should give ya about 6 and a half length advantage(at 88mph) over stock?

Most people aren't going to drop a second by just a tune. A rule of thumb is that .1 is about a length. Of course this will vary with how fast you are going...

I agree with what you're saying but you also have to remember stuff like: shift points, torque management, abuse mode, and other transmission changes will help knock a couple .1ths off too.
