Maybe you could do something a little different but within the rules. According to the rule book the main hoop must be a maximum of 6 inches behind your helmet. If you put in racing seat and had your helmet up next to the rear glass, technically you could have the main hoop mounted in the bed. Also it does not say it has to be welded to the frame, just "Securely Fastened"... So techinically you could just have the door bars pass threw the lower section of the cab (metal part), rather than using lexan glass... And I believe door bars can be removable.....

Bah don't do it...that truck is too sick as it is. If you ARE considering it, I'd do like you mentioned earlier and get an older/used truck and go all out. Just MHO!

or leave it alone!!!! and like mentioned just race the 1/8 and let go for the rest of the track... unless its your last run or you got a $$ race that itll be worth it getting kicked off!!

I say install a cage go safety first don't worry about the truck make it safe, my wife drives mine most of the time and it is a street truck yes with a/c , overdrive trans and all. 10.3 with a 1.36 60 ft and 4550lbs. Madman at Thunder racing is the man you can come look at mine anytime. The way he did it you don't really notice it until it passes you.
