Default Single ore two piece?

I am considering a single piece shaft for my 2500 regular cab sort bed. The truck is bagged so I might need to do a bit of notching to make it work. I have had people tell me I am much better off with a single piece at the track due to having less u-joints and the carrier bearing. I have had other opinions that the two piece is as strong or stronger.

My thought is the single piece would be better but don't want to spend $300 for no reason. Other side is I need to have $155 worth of work to the factory shaft as of now. Let me know what you think.

If it helps the truck runs 13s and plan to run high 11s by the end of the year if it doesn't blow up.

Keep the two piece driveshaft. It's been proven time and time again they hold up better than the one piece shafts under high speeds and high loads. Have both shafts high speed balanced and put good u joints in them and don't look back IMO.

I agree. Keep the 2 piece. The one piece would be too long, in my opinion.

+1. 2 pieces vibrate less and are much stronger in return.
The best explanation I could give is taking a pencil and breaking it in half and half again and again. The shorter the pieces the more force it takes to break them.

Hmmmm. maybe he don't give a poop how good the 2 piece is! I had to re-read this entire thread to see what made him say 1 piece.

two piece will be stronger, why would you want a one piece?
