Default Stock 2006 Trailblazer SS... 14.1@98.5

I bought a used 2006 Trailblazer from a longtime friend Shane who has been on LS1TECH since it's inception. This TBSS is a strippo model with cloth seats, no navi, and no sunroof. It also has the ever so fun RWD setup that I enjoy a lot in the summer and fight all winter.

Anyway, with about 16,000 miles showing on the odometer, I took Project Big Bad Brick up to Great Lakes Dragaway. As I climbed into the driver's seat and popped in an Altoids, I saw much to my dismay that it was lightly raining, so much for Weather.com. Typically I would shitcan the trip at that point, the track is something like 65 miles from office.

But heck I haven't been to the track yet this year, and this a bonestock truck so worst case I get up there and they're closed, and I just go to the Brat Stop... Maybe 38 Special is doing a set, maybe Night Ranger.

15 minutes later, now it's really coming down. Feeling more stupid now. Now I'm on the Edens and it's only two lanes... DANG IT.

I'm pretty stubborn so now I have to go unless I see actual flooding.

As soon as I neared the IL/WI border I saw some sun. That's all I needed.

A quick recap of the runs, and what I tried:

14.73@94.81, 2.23 - Stalled it up to 1200, and stabbed the gas. Spun
14.76@94.98, 2.25 - Stalled it up to 1200, and tried to roll into the gas. Spun
14.20@97.18, 2.14 - Opened the hood, cooled it down for 30 min, stalled up to 1000 and rolled into the gas
14.10@98.51, 2.14 - Opened teh hood, cooled it down for 30 min, stalled up to 1000 and rolled into the gas but a little faster than the earlier pass
14.27@97.78, 2.23 - Same as above, spun a lot I think the track was going away
14.35@97.98, 2.26 - Only a 10 minute cooldown, track was closing the staging lanes. Spun quite a bit, yup, the track was going away for sure

Notes:
-No weight reduction
-I think the cool downs helped
-Truck ET's suffered a lot with tire spin, best to roll out fast on stock tires
-Has a strong 2nd gear pull, but it lays down in 3rd
-72F when I got there, cloudy, cooled down to 67F
-Had a slight tailwind
-Track prep was so-so, I'd say it was B-, not a lot of slick cars there and most of the big dogs were out of it by the 330.

I'm guessing that if I went again and pulled the spare out, had some good air, and a good cool down, it would probably run an easy 13.9. I can see someone running 13.8 in extremely good air, and I recall someone on a TBSS site posting a 13.8 maybe a high 13.7 at Atco.

This is one cool truck. I've got some parts lying around here... A ported stock throttle body, a CAI, and an e-fan setup. I also have a trans cooler which I'll put on too.

Saw a guy there that I know from a few sites with an AWD strippo '07, he had a slight tune, KN CAI, and had the passenger headlight out. On my 14.1 pass he ran a 13.66@101.03 on a 2.02 short time. Pretty cool.

They are fun, if you tune it i would say its a mid to low 13s easy but you might have to invest in some DRs for traction. mine dropped a full second with just a mild tune and mine is awd loaded so it weighs a close to 5k lbs
