i just had my 4l80e rebuilt with several nice additions and initially had a revmax 3400 lockup in it but i will never go down that road again....there stall isnt half what they advertise. my new motor has a comp 5.88/5.93 294/306 cam in it and wont idle in gear unless i idle it at 1200+ which is rediculous!! im fixing to order a new 4000 stall from one of this sites sponsors and be done with it!! i just installed a 4.56 before i had my trans built and i will say that you gonna love it!! these heavy trucks need that lil extra kick in the *** that the 4.56 gives it...haha

Good news bad news, good news when my guy pulled my rear apart it turned out to be a 3.23 gear and that helps explain why it wad lazy the first 20' and in high gear.the bad news, crossing the traps at 5200 with a 28" tire and going to a 4.56 might have put me over my 6200-6500 window that I want to cross at.So I bought a set of 30" MT slicks today and tommarrow I'll be at cecil county MD and see what happens.all in all to run 11.20's with a 3.23 gear makes me happy!

Excuses excuses and here they go,I got to cecil unloaded the truck and drove it up and down the pits and it felt awesome. So much power my smile was from ear to ear so when they called us up I did my burn out and then 1 dry hop and it felt like it was gping to leave the earth.I pulled up to the tree and man was I excited when the lights came down I nailed it and pow she took off like a rocket. Then 10' out it broke traction I lifted and nailed it a 2nd time and I felt something when it grabbed and a vibration started.I then shifted second and was just going for high when BOOM the driveshaft blew and came right out of the truck about 500' feet out.I coasted all the way Down the track since I didnt see smoke or oil.
I knew i could coast to the end.Sure enough it broke the driveshaft and I'll have a new stronger 4" shaft on tuesday and be at the track on weds.
It pulls the front wheels up and feels so strong I can't wait for a full pass.
