Default Took it to the track..ughhh

decided to head to the track friday night to see what the truckster would do. got there late and with the wait only had time for one run. the car before me evidently put something down on the track because the guy held me up to mop the track right off the launch pad. i give the tires a quick cleaning and roll up to stage, trying to stradle the mop up as best as i could. i launch it at 1200 and all is good, but then i blew the tires right up. got into where they mopped the track and it was like i was on ice. i had to peddle it for a full 3 secs before i could finally hook, but once i did the rest of the run felt good. considering the suck *** launch what does the rest of the run and trap speed look like?

here's the slip

60'------2.537
330-----7.471
1/8-----11.095
MPH----70.96
1000---14.044
1/4----16.558
MPH---89.60

Man Frank, I would have been pissed, especially since it was your only run. Don't know what to say about the time slip, except do it again.

Did your MPH just get that goofed up because of the spinning, I wonder, or was the weather pretty shitty? I figured you would have trapped a little higher.

it was warm and humid. didn't get the DA, but temps were 80-82 and probably 70%+ humidity with a stout south wind all day.

it was enough of a spin to smoke the tires at 30ft.

looking at the log of the run i was about 1.2secs into the run, probably 30ft mark when it went. i lifted as soon as i heard the rpms jump up quickly, knowing the tires were breaking loose. it shifted into 2nd, got back into it at less than 100% and thats when they went up in smoke. the mph went from ~40 to 63 in about 4/10s of a sec. lifted again and jumped back into it about 75%, tires spun again, got back out of it, let the truck settle down a bit and feathered the throttle from there on. all in all i spent 3secs peddling it to get it to settle down and hook up. it felt like i was 200ft out there before i really to off.

time for some ETs or M&Hs.

That explains it. Give it another shot and you'll get it dialed in.

u do not have enough power to need slicks. You should be able to use street tires with your mods. I dynoed over 350rwhp and I can pull off a 2.0 60ft time on 20" street tires. Your tires could be too worn or they didnt prep the track very well.

that mph should have been a mid 15 second run, so I say you were pulling hard down the track after you hooked. If you drop your 60 and hook, I would think you could get a high 14.

I have to agree with the above at that mph thats around a mid 15 second pass. But, if you can get a good launch and not have acar fudge you over by lowing oil or whatever ou could hit a high 14.

Sounds like they did a lousy job cleaning up that spill. I would demand my money back.

tires are new proxes, and i had dropped the pressures to about 28. as it is i am seriously traction limited on the street. not hard at all to send'em up in smoke. i think et streets will allow me to hook up way better, therefore leave alot harder.

a buddy of mine was there and was launching hard with a 1.7 60ft and a running a 12.02 et, so i'm thinkin now that i definately got off on to where they mopped the track.

what is it, for every 1/10 drop in 60ft times should net a 2/10 drop in ET? if that is close then if i can hook and get a 1.9 60ft, that should net me ~1.2 ET reduction. also if i can get back 1/2 the time i spent out of the throttle - 1.5secs. that would be approx 2.7sec ET drop and would equate to a 13.85 ET.

sound reasonable? there are those running not that much more power than me who are deep into the 13's.
