well guess not,
heres mine i messed around and made. i came from the dodge side and they have done this for a little while, and seeing how easy it is to take the (gm) lights out and a straight shot to the maf.. well heres my attempt

all i had to buy was the headlight, rest i had lying around from previous intakes..

All in all it is a decent idea.. However I don't think I would have cut up a good light to do that.. By just removing it would have netted the gains... From what I have read the ram air affect doesn't come into play untill around 100 mph

Have you used it at the track yet? Notice any gain?

I can see what your saying, but imo just removing the headlight negates the gains by having a big hole in the front creating drag, and headlights are cheap enough not to bother me hacking one up. but far as ram air, i find it hard to believe its not doing something sticking out there, just blowing in it and feeling what comes out against your hand i can only imagine what its doing @70ish @1/8th mile, now with that said im not calling it ram air but its def forcing more in than would normally be..

I did go to the track, and to be honest my testing has not been confirmed or not, but i have a good idea its helping, heres what happend.

1st run go up dont heat tires and completely do a one wheel smoke show thanks to the great G80

2nd run go up heat em up pretty good, take off( can feel the crappy G80 lock up few feet out) overall decent run = 14.69

3rd run been sitting awhile do to a break, its cold out but extremely humid somehow( enough you could write your name in the dew on cars @9pmish) so im first in line and so i fig it will be nice and cold, only one problem mafs dont like moisture.. i start it up get a reduced engine power and have to limp down the track like an idiot (again it was extremly humid and i dont think this would have happend on any reg race night but is an obvious flaw for the intake)

so basically i only got one good run and ran a 14.69 with this, diablo, shiftkit and a borla muffler with no tailgate or hitch. i think it shows promise compared to what ive read other people have ran on here, but thats just my opinion. have to wait til next yr to test some more..
I think with headers and better tune with some sort traction device for the axle combined with a good LSD i think its poss to see a 13.99 out of my setup with it, again just my opinion..

Great idea, i bet it performs, but honestly it is tipping the ricer scale, at least IMO...
