I am still getting my feet wet drag racing, but my second time out now with only my gmpp intake, corsa sport cat back, and blackbear tune I managed a 15.443@89.52. The truck is slow for this site, but it performed admirably for an essentially stock CCSB 4X4 with 3.42 gears and a piddly 5.3. This was all at Edgewater in Cincy at about 75 degrees out, so not too bad of air. I had to launch in 4wd or it would spin bad off the line, but still desperately need a converter to get down my sixty foot times. It was a tremendously fun night though.

Just a warning now.. it's a spendy habit. I am hooked and already planning thousands in mods to get my 60' and ET down.

Did you do a full pass in 4x4? What year is your truck?

What I found best for me was to launch in 4x4 and as soon as it shifts into second switch into 2HI

I ran full passes in 4 hi since I didn't figure it would shift out under full throttle. Either way I am thinking of getting a set of 275/50r15 drag radials and pulling the abs fuse next time I go. The truck is an 09 with a 6 speed tranny.

Pull the fuses, it will help. Even if you hold the traction control button for 10 seconds or however long you need it it still does not disable all the traction control.

Pull fuses, shift to 2HI after it shifts into second and see what you can manage

I didn't think mine would shift out of 4WD but it does and pretty quick to.

thats not a bad time for a very mild ccsb 4x4 at all. where you spinning that bad in 4hi? honestly i think you could prolly skip the radials and buy some headers since you are 4x4.

The radials are more for being able to switch to a 2wd launch and get the advantage of a shorter tire. I didn't spin any in 4wd that I could tell.

You can't just throw on the shorter tires. Not transfer case friendly at all. And if they're noticeably shorter (like more than in inch) it needs to be compensated for in the tune. As your shift points will be fucked three ways from sunday.

If you pull the ABS fuse and run in 2wd would it still mess up shift points?

No comments? I figured taking the ABS/Traction control system out of the equation would allow shorter rears to be run without any issue. Sure, the speedometer would be off, but I figured it would still shift at the same engine speeds as before. I don't mind to get a shorter set of front tires too, but was going to avoid it if I could.
