Default Very disappointed

Went to the track tonight and the best it ran was a 8.80. I doesn't feel like its pulling like it should be. any suggestions what could be wrong? it ran a 8.8 with just a converter, headers, and bumping the shift points up. now after the cam it doesn't feel any better. From a roll i can feel its a little stronger but cant go from a roll at the track. i dont see any reason why this shouldn't at least be running some 8.50s. It ran 9.6s completely stock. if i cant pick up one second with what i have now im choosing another hobby.

Your tune might not be god fo your cam, your cam might be too big, the heat didn't help you for sure. Did you have any traction issues? There are a million reasons why you didn't gain anything some of them are in your hands, others are not controlled by you.

Take a deep breath, relax and go again in a week or two and see what happens.

You've gotta be patient in this hobby too good results will come it will just take you being patient. Good weather. And when you go record every variable possible from run to run and from one weekend to the next. Take all this into consideration and you'll see improvement even if the timeslips don't really show it. If you go from 9.0s in cold weather to 8.9-8 spinning in the 100deg heat then IMO you've picked up a he'll of a lot.... Think about it

MPH 103.84
these are my runs June 12th heat was 97* IATs were 110-118*
6.2
milled heads .020"
228/236 cam
3200 converter
LTs/OR-y/Magnaflow
4" CAI
90mm TB
UD Crank pulley
moroso oil pump
vette servos
Truckshop tune
3:42/G80
28" M&H DRs

i swapped to 4:10s and a tru-trac and went 13.0 @ 104.2 the heat is murdering me plus my converter isn't big enough. keep in mind, this is my DD/Family ride. i havent taken anything off of the truck, it still has the tow ball on the truck and i run 3/4 tank of gas or a little less. in the heat your truck is pulling timing i bet. mine pulls it like crazy.

I do agree the cam might be a little big for such a heavy truck and little converter but still thought it would do something.
