Default Weight reduction list?

Searched, could not really find anything. (Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms?)

I'm wanting to remove a few things the next time I go to the track. Mainly the spare tire, tail gate, and hitch. I wasn't able to find any specific weights online. The hitch, Reese says is 18.7lbs The stepside tailgate a few said is 30lbs, but no one seems to have weighed one. The spare tire, I see weights of 46-68 llbs.

So on the low side, i can drop about 96 lbs, on the high side 117lbs. I'm not concerned about losing traction, the truck bogs as it is now. Hopefully what I remove is worth at least a tenth.

Never tried that. But you can also remove the spare tire winch, heat shields, inner fender liners, passenger seat and im out of ideas...

Door panels, and all the trim you can pull out of the truck. Rear bumper (can’t remember if that is required or not)

Lawrence Tolman did a video on his Ugly Truck were he took some stuff out and put some lighter stuff in like control arms, removing the rear seat (extended cab) and i can't recall what else. He had a scale and was weighing stuff. Not a full blown gut out, but some things to lighten the truck up.

So the tailgate is 43lbs, I just verified that. I'll weigh the spare wheel/tire next, eventually the hitch.

Basically, I am trying to get weights of things easily removed (then put back) at the track to try and drop around 100lbs - to see if the old adage holds true that 100lbs = .1 ET reduction.

I finally got around to weighing my spare, 53lbs. So I'd be at 96lbs just dropping the spare and tailgate. I nearly have my 100lbs right there, I bet I could clean 4lbs of tools and other crap out of the truck to get the full 100lbs.

Update: took the hitch off... 18.7lbs my ***. Verified, 69lbs. Then I proceeded to clean another 18lbs of unnecessary crap out of the cab. That's 184lbs total, plus I'd have to weigh my rear street wheels vs. the drag set up. It's probably just shy of 200lbs total.

Haha... yeah I try to keep it as realistic as possible. Other than the tailgate and drag radials, it's exactly how i drive it on the street daily.

I wish I had pulled the passenger seat in retrospect... likely would have gotten a 12 second time slip. New PB thread incoming...
