what is the fastest hemi reg cab truck that you'll know of
i am tring to find out what is the best a reg-cab hemi can run with just mufflers.
i am helping a friend build his 4.8 ex-cab to race a hemi for 500 dallors we have about 4 weeeks to do what ever we want but no power adders.
this is the run down so far
locker with 4.56,custom grind cam,headers,cut out,under drive pulleys,e-fans,tb verterworked on to go about 3k,and cold air intake,and a dyno tune,
i am hoping the truck can get in to the 13.s to just surprise the hell out of him.

To date I know of no one that has bested my run of 13.89 @ 94.86 with the mods listed in my sig... thru the stock muffler... BUT there IS one other guy with a truck like mine with the only change being a true dual setup that runs 13.5xs .....
Chances are with the mods you speak of you will be on top... don't take anything for granted though...
out of all the 4.8s I have only seen one at the track that would consistanly put out numbers that would beat those above.. 01 Thunder's ride.... and he has a LOT of work in his....

PS... just so you'll know, the fastest rc time so far: 12.33 @ 104 N/A w/ NO weight redux... but this is fairly modded... still with no good tuning ability! Last nite this truck ran @ over 107 mph but did not best the ET so far....

The good running rc Hemi trucks around here seem to be high to mid 14's.
Good luck getting a 4.8 ec into the thirteens...or mid 14's.
The 3k your going to spend on converter, cam, and gear will almost buy a crate 6.0 LQ9.
JMO... been there dunn that and got the tee shirt.

There will be no way(IMO) you can get a 4.8 ext cab in the 13's. Has that ever even been done before?
EDIT-Naturally Aspirated of course....

the fastest hemi ran an 11.9, not 12.3. The fastest NA hemi ran a 12.5 last night at 107mph. Once he sprays it will be a mid to low 11 second truck. He is waiting on his built tranny before he sprays. stock hemi with just a muffler will run about a low to mid 14 with a decent driver.

I'd put a 6.0 in it also. How is anyone gonna know unless you unbolt the accessory brackets? Not that I'd go thru all that for $500, but look on the bright side, after it was all over he'd have a 6.0L truck instead of a 4.8. I mean let's face it, nobody likes the 4.8's except the guys that are stuck with 'em. What kind of tires are you planning on running? 4.56 is a lot of gear to try to hook on street tires.
